Have you ever wondered what you’re doing with your working life, how you ended up where you are, or where you’re going in the future? Are you looking for that little something, even if you’re not quite sure what that is?

Our founder, Naomi, launched the Skylark podcast, Smashing The Ceiling, at a time when she felt hugely uncertain about her career. She was looking for inspiration from other women who’d done things a little differently, who’d branched out of their career comfort zone and taken the road less travelled job-wise.

She started speaking to remarkable women about how they’d got where they are, and how their mentors, mistakes and motivations had led them to achieve the things they have. Ordinary women who have smashed through their own glass ceilings and forged their own version of success. This is the foundation of Smashing The Ceiling.

In each episode Naomi sits down with one (occasionally two!) women to talk about their working lives. Many have unusual careers, some are business owners and these days, many are podcasters too. They are certainly all interesting, with varied lives that we hope may reflect your own in some small way, from time to time. We want to give you a virtual hug via the podcast, to uplift and inspire you, and to show you that if these women can achieve such great things, then you can too.
