Let’s be real. Starting a podcast is easy, but maintaining and growing a podcast is hard. Over 50% of podcasts fade out within a year and we know there are inequality barriers to navigate along the path to success.
The Skylark Collective is the go-to sisterhood for women with a vision for their podcast. We see your power and your potential. We want to welcome you, meet you, share ideas and learn from each other. Let’s celebrate together, lift each other up, and open the door to your podcasting potential.

Skylark supports the work of the Kasama Collective, whose latest venture, Kasama Labs, is a self-paced online course that invites you inside the story, sound, and structure of an award-winning narrative nonfiction podcast—and provides tools for creative living in podcasting and beyond.
With a maximum of 24 students per class, this is a unique opportunity to learn from the creators of an award-winning, top 1% global podcast.
Laura Joyce Davis is an award-winning, MFA-trained fiction writer and podcaster, the founder and president of the Kasama Collective podcast training program, and the host and executive producer of Shelter in Place. Shelter in Place won the Changing the World One Moment at a Time Award at the 2021 International Women’s Podcast Awards, has published over 175 scripted episodes, and is currently in the top 1% of all active podcasts globally.
Nate Davis began his career in audio by winning a Radio-Mercury Award before he’d finished advertising portfolio school. Since then, he’s helped launch Sony’s first global website, refined e-commerce at Apple, written app copy at an insurance startup, and been Laura‘s creative partner at Shelter in Place, the Kasama Collective, and the Kasama Labs.
The International Women’s Podcast Awards recognise moments of brilliance in podcasting and the women and non-binary folk that produce them. We champion and celebrate the work of women podcasters, both behind the mic and behind the scenes.
The 2021 awards took place on Thursday 23rd September at Allbright, London, with an international livestream broadcasting the event to a global audience, welcoming guests from as far afield as New Zealand, Mauritius, Dubai and California. It was a spectacular sold-out event hosted by Vick Hope of BBC Radio 1, and has set the bar high for 2022!

Our thriving community holds regular events. Some of these are exclusive, members-only events that are only available to those within the Skylark circle. But we believe in helping as many women and non-binary podcasters as we can, so we also regularly hold free, open-access events that are open to the wider podcasting world.
We love meeting new people and seeing both familiar faces and new ones, so do join us at an event when you can!
